Licensed Security Officers are always in demand. To become licened one must attend state-mandated training. Sovereigns Security Officer School's Class DI Instructor teaches the Florida Class D (Unarmed) Security Officer 42-hour pre-licensing course in English. We are currented under contract to a company with offices at Port Canaveral and Hollywood. A classroom in Dundee is also available to Sovereigns Security Officer School.

Much is expected in the professional Security career field by the State of Florida because licensed Security Officers are charged with protecting persons and property. Note that prospective students should review the state license requirements (CLICK ON THE LINKS PROVIDED BELOW) and Security Officer Class D License Application prior to to enrolling. Note that Section 493.6110(2) and (3). Florida Statutes, "X. Applying For A License," lists the following caveats:

"Any person applying for a license must be at least 18 years of age; have no disqualifying criminal history; be of good moral character; have no history of mentall illness or history of use of illegal drugs or alcoholism, unless evidence is presented showing successful completion of a rehabilitation program, or current mental competency, as appropriate." Thus, before applying for this course, a person possessing a criminal history or mental illness should contact the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDA&CS) at (863)245-5665 to determine if he or she can reasonably expect a license application to be accepted.
